Season 27, Week 2
Gepetto
(Shadow Hearts: Covenant )

Gepetto is the last of his castmates to get a match, but certainly not the least. No, this skilled Parisian is has talent coming out his ears, and it shows in his strange mix of puppetry and spellcasting. Now that he's getting his shot at the Duelling League, he'll have a chance to show off those skills to a whole new crowd...after he wins this match with the hopelessly pathetic Badrach. The least of Valkyrie's soldiers, Badrach is far weaker than any thief who lived as long as he did should ever be. His arrows strike with all the impact of a spitwad, and even Sphere Strike fails to faze a whithered old man like Gepetto. No mistake, this is a match little Cornelia could win with no strings attached there's no doubt the full Gepetto puppet extravaganza will put Badrach away faster than he can string together profanity.

Many, many matches in the Duelling League have proven one simple fact: sometimes being just a little sneakier than the other guy is all it takes to win a fight. Badrach didn't exactly write the book on sneakiness (for one thing, he never saw eye-to-eye with the printed word, even when he had hands to hold a book with), but you don't live long as a freelance mercenary if you don't know all the tricks of the trade. Sure, Badrach might not be the most impressive fighter around if you just look at his raw strength, but if it comes to an all-out fight, Sphere Strike could probably do a number on someone as frail as Gepetto. Why take the risk, though? Look at it this way: his opponent is an elderly puppeteer who relies on a doll to do all his fighting for him. How hard could it be for Badrach to arrange a little...inconvenience?

.."My..god.."

Yushis looked around in horror. The Seraph had chose to watch the fight to see a fellow fighter of justice battle a perverted old man. Instead, she saw the arena blasted apart with several tons of what appeared to be.. cream.

Surprisingly, Gepetto popped out of the middle of a rather large drift of cream, almost totally unhurt. Badrach lay splayed in the middle of the arena, clearly knocked out.

"Gepetto yelled a few words that Yushis didn't understand, and walked out, victor in battle.

"What does 'lactose intolerance' mean? I'll go ask Fogel..."
