Season 27, Week 2
Nate Nanjo
(Persona)

The DL has not been graced by the swift, phantasmagoric sword style of Nate Nanjo for many seasons. But now, the chief of Behind the Scenes is ready to shine once more! Protected by his dead butler Alfred from all of Altima's magicks, Nate is in for a very simple fight: he's faster, his ElixerAll spell will restore any damage Altima might inflict on him with her weak attacks, and he possesses LightAll -a powerful holy-aligned magic- easily the bane of the Bloody Angel Altima. The unholy demon is weak to both Light and Gravity, and it just so happens that LightAll combines both of those elements together. A single casting of LightAll should rend Altima apart, splattering her unholy limbs to the depths of Hell itself, torched with holy light. With Altima down, Nate can continue on with another fantastic winning season!

The Bloody Angel hasn't garnered much respect in Godlike. It's about time that changed. This time, Altima has not drawn a Godlike Champion in the first round. No, Nate Nanjo is powerful... but he is not champion material. More importantly, however, he is not status immune, nor can he reflect statuses with any spell he possesses, and thus Altima will have a chance to employ her greatest talent. Others may fear the power of Nate's servant, Alfred, and his capability to reflect all magic thrown at him, but Altima has a trick up her sleeve; her Grand Cross attack is -not- magic. Truly terrifying, it ignores all of Nate's tricks and will cripple him no matter what he does, allowing Altima to pick off her helpless foe however she chooses. This battle will easily give her the long-deserved first victory in Godlike she's desired.

It is an irrefutable fact of warfare that knowing one's opponent is the first step towards victory. Thus, Nate spent much of the week preceeding the match hunting down Ultima Demons to converse with. In doing so, he heard many rumors of the Bloody Angel, none particularly helpful.

So, Nate decided to rig the deck. Using his influence as one of the principle stockholders of the Duelling League, he arranged for the match to be held in Sumaru city. Once there, he started a series of unusual rumors pertaining to Altima.

A few days later, as the match began, those who had studied up on Sumaru were fairly unsurprised when, as soon as Nate entered the arena where Altima was already waiting, she began to sing. At the top of her lungs, she belted out these words; "GO SPEED RACER! GO SPEED RACER! GO SPEED RACER GOOOOO~!" Over and again, she sang, until at last she slumped in exhaustion, giving Nate an easy match.

Who knew an innocent rumor like "Altima is a massive Speed Racer fangirl" could prove so effective?
