Season 26, Week 4
Sephiroth
(Final Fantasy VII)

Orlandu is yet another pathetic worm, trying to change the inevitable results of this eternal, bloody circle. Sephiroth has won this match before, and this has not only proven his superiority to everyone around him, it also has given him a massive psychological advantage over Orlandu. Regardless of how proud a warrior you are, there is always that lingering doubt that comes up when you are in a rematch against one of the few warriors that has defeated you. A rematch against the feared Sephiroth only makes it even worse - to be placed in the middle of the arena, matched against the power of complete evil, an ominous theme playing in the background - it's enough to make even a strong fighter like Orlandu shiver. You already know the results - why do you need to ponder over fate?

It's a rematch of epic proportions this week, as Cidolfas Orlandu once again crosses blades and wits with Sephiroth. The first match between these veteran duellers was the debut for both in the Duelling League, resulting in a win for Sephy. Cid's come a long way since that long-gone fight: a godlike title and nine wins later, he's proven himself as one of the greatest warriors to grace the division, and he'll gladly show Sephiroth the extent of his fame. With superior speed and offense, Orlandu's can burn through even the toughest of bosses. He'll need that firepower, as Sephiroth's pressure game is truly impressive. However, Thundergod Cid isn't one to roll over in the face of a foe as dangerous as the One-Winged Angel. It'll be a truly epic fight, worthy of the term "Godlike".

Orlandu approached Sephiroth the day before the match. "I understand you've a precedent for offering to settle matches with straight sword duels, on occasion. Since we already know the outcome of an ordinary match between us, I thought we might make things interesting."

Sephiroth smirked and confidently assented immediately. "Very well. Basic sword combat it is."

When the silver-haired swordsman entered the arena the next day, however, he didn't see Cidolfas anywhere. Instead, he saw a purple-haired girl loosely gripping a gleaming shamshir, her cold gaze directed downwards. As he walked into the ring uncertainly, Marisa looked up, smiled at him, and raised her sword. "You have agreed to settle this match as an honorable duel between swordsmen. Come, draw your blade and fight."

With an indignant snort, Sephiroth reached for his materia, but the vicious hissing from the audience gave him pause. Marisa leaned in closer and deadpanned, "Your opponent this week did a fine job of advertising a sword fight. Anything less would be... disappointing for certain members of the audience. Ghaleon's been so bored in his off-season that he's just been dying to see a good fight."

That's it, Sephiroth thought with pure and murderous rage. Even if the knight had effectively ceded the match, Orlandu would pay for this one. Returning Marisa's stare with full force, the Perfect SOLDIER suddenly drew his Masamune and brought it around for a diagonal slash in one smooth motion. His attack would have felled most any opponent, but the damned girl seemed to slip right through his sword, neatly avoiding his blade with a sudden burst of speed that brought her to Sephiroth's suddenly exposed flank. As he desperately turned his head and tried to follow her movements, Marisa shot him a cool smile. The last thing he heard was the click of the unsheathed shamshir, and then everything was black.

Sephiroth: 66
Orlandu, Cidolfas: 51

"Ah well," said Ashton to himself as he sat on the park bench, feeding pigeons. "Now that I've lost my chance at the title, I guess there's not much else that can really go wrong for me... Huh?" Ashton was distracted by a strange reddish light from above, and didn't even notice Ururun snagging a pigeon.

**Meanwhile, in the Arena...**

Sephiroth had taken to the sky and cast Wall. Now he just had to...

"Hah!" laughed Orlandu. "You're getting soft, boy! We both know you're wasting your time with that silly Supernova!"

Sephiroth paused. "But I haven't cast anything yet..."

Both combatants sweatdropped as the audience began screaming and scrambling about in terror, for the RPGDL planet's sun had indeed decided to go nova.

As the arena was engulfed in fiery plasma the two looked at each other and chorused the exact same phrase: "This is all Ashton's fault, somehow. I'm sure of it!"

It took the mysterious owners of the RPGDL over two hundred years to fix the damage and restore everyone to life again. Luckily, this included TimeLord, so once he was back they just shunted everything back two hundred years and set it into orbit around an entirely different star.

Oh, and due to his higher HP, Sephiroth took slightly longer to vaporize, giving him the win.

To put this into perspective, Orlandu is a one man army in FFT. He can literally make up for everyone's shortcomings by himself. Sephiroth, however, is the nuclear bomb of FF7. Once he wakes up, things literally start dying.

...Silly Orlandu, bringing yourself to a nuclear bomb detonation. That ought to go well.

*Sincerely hopes Sephiroth gets robbed*

Ky
Thundergod Cid deserves his Godlike status. If he had more than 999 max hit points, he might stand a chance against Sephiroth in a single duel.

Sephiroth is the harbinger of destruction. He never really loses, he just decides to give others a chance at feeling the joy of winning a battle, so that he can take the happiness from them when he wins the war.

Not even Cid can take a boss down as a minimized frog.

Lyndis
Sephiroth dies to the attack of the Orlandu clones!
