Season 26, Week 3
Melville
(Suikoden III)

The young Swordsman of Rage is ready to march to victory once again. A week after besting the Chosen Colette in combat, the leader of the Saint Loa Knights looks to draw forth and battle against an actual member of a real army...although maybe there are more famous soldiers around. After all, Mio's best known for being outslugged and outsmarted by a bunch of kids. Including Justin. Luckily for Melville, he's quite a bit brighter than a certain red-haired adventurer. With his S in Heavy Damage and the backing of Alanis and Elliot, Melville's going to apply a serious beating!

A child? At least Justin had hit puberty by the time he began adventuring. At least Keele could put up a fight - Melville will fall prey to Mio's dreaded Stun Gun and Super Balloon far faster and easier than the Inferian magus ever did. After paralyzing and poisoning the little kid, it'll be a simple matter to knock him into next week while he's prone - that's something a deranged monkey like Sten could do. Mio's last spectacular battle against Keele won't be her last this season, and she'll continue to spread the jurisdiction and power of Garlyle farther than it's ever spread before!

Melville knows when he's beat.

He studied Mio, looked up all the books on her techniques and skills, and came to a simple, intelligent conclusion.

He asked Mio to help him beat up Guillaume, in exchange for throwing the match.

She agreed. After all, she much preferred to beat up an insane man than a nice kid.

And this is how Guillaume ended up stark naked, unconcious, and in Virgil's bed when Virgil woke up.

Mio and Melville are now heralded as heroes by Light children all across the league, and Guillaume was last seen as a bloody pulp in an infirmary, with half a dozen healers arguing over who was going close enough to a horribly, nastily mangled Guillaume to heal him. After all, it's Guillaume.

Some stories really do have a happy ending for everyone.

Well, everyone that matters.
