Season 26, Week 3
Sigurd
(Suikoden IV)

This will not be a fast match. While Cyan sits around and charges, all this means is giving the pirate Sigurd more time to pummel him into the dirt. So, charging for Cleave is out the window. Going purely for damage? Definitely not an option with Sigurd's Water Rune and its more than plentiful healing to chip Cyan to death. Whatever Cyan can sit around and wait to do, Sigurd has an answer for with a dart in the retainer's sight. Slow and painful, should be a good show. And for Cyan? Heh. He will definitely go down squirming and squealing.

Cyan's match this week invovles beating upon the greatest gift one could bestow upon a Light; a Suikoscrub. Like most matches of this sort, Cyan will have no problem. The time sacrifice for his Swordteches makes little difference: Sigurd's attacks mean little, and all it will take is a few of his better swordskills to make this match an utter joke. Sigurd's healing will only prolong the inevitable. The Katana-wielding, machine-hating, ponytail'd hero of Doma castle will take another win and make a name for himself in the ranks of Light.

Picture this: On the day of one of the most important matches in your life, you wake up relaxed and confident. Your heart is filled with vigor, and your blood is filled with adrenaline.

Too much adrenaline, it seems, as it looks like blood had seeped into the bed covers. Strange, you thought. You're pretty sure the white mages healed your wounds before you slept. You remove the sheets, wondering what could be the cause of so much blood...

...revealing the severed head of your acquaintance.

This was the exact scene that met Cyan as his eyes met the dead eyes of one Rinoa Heartily. His poor middle-aged heart, already filled with vigor and adrenaline, simply couldn't take it. He quietly suffered a heart attack, preventing him from going to his match, giving Sigurd the win.

You didn't think Melody would let him get away so easily after winning the last round, did you?
