Shining Force Strikes Back

Rashidi and Loki stood in Seph's villa, both grinning ear to ear. "Nothing like a slaughter of the useless to brighten one's mood". Rashidi had discarded his mystic robes for a T-shirt and shorts. "Agreed. Those fools from the Shining Force had no idea what hit them". Loki merely wore a bathing suih. Both were surrounded by Seph's large platoon of servants, and enjoyed the bright sun and splendid surroundings.

"Tonight is the grand party?", Loki lazily stretched and sat down in a well-placed chair. Noticing Rashidi's nod, he stretched and closed his eyes. "Excellent. A nap would be in order, before the fun starts. Who's on the guest list?"

"Just a few friends. Genevieve, False Althena, Endora, Freya... not many, really."

Zidane stood, glaring at his crack team. Gathered at a random corner of the DL, they had managed to regroup and even gain some bluster. They were all mostly healed from the brutal beating at the hands of Fou-Lu, if jeopardized by the absence of a member. "We have a new plan, boys. With Charmles' connections, we've secured the floor plan of Sephiroth's villa. Combined, we'll storm the party tonight and make a name for ourselves. It'll be tough. But we will perserv-" *Thunk*

Max stood over Zidane's body, Chaos Breaker in hand. Behind him, stood the entire combined cast of the Shining Force games, including Odd Eye and Darksol. "Useful. Did not expect this. Odd Eye, put him down". The blind Greater Devil dropped the brutalized body of Graham Cray.

"Boys, I'm not one for a lot of talk. But this is an exception. Sephiroth and his latest underlings have made a mockery of our proud series, and beaten most of us. Revenge must be had against Loki and Rashidi for their part in this, and it must be had tonight! We stand together, villain and hero, devil and elf. The will of our combined Shining Force, along with the knowledge of the floor plan and the ninjas leading the way... nothing will stop us. Not even the One Winged Angel himself."

---

Night has fallen. Loki and Rashidi party away, unaware that even the slightest hint of trouble lurks outside. The Shining Forces are ready to spring into action... do the villains have a prayer? More importantly, did Max conceal things enough so that Sephiroth won't be notified of it until too late?

  • Max and the Shining Force crush the villa and everyone inside.
  • Rashidi and Loki fight off the combined assault.
  • Sephiroth comes back to his villa in ruins from the battle, and beats the hell out of both sides.

One of the major problems of being a villan Godlike is that everyone and their mother wants to beat on you. The reasons for this are many and varied: fame, fortune, personal vengeance. For example, when Piastol and her drinking buddies wished for nothing more than a destruction competition, they were swarmed by the rest of the DL, most of whom were hoping to get fame and fortune from defeating a Godlike. Such an event is annoying, painful, and much more life-threatening than any truly villanous Godlike would mention.

Unfortunately, Loki and Rashidi were unaware of many things. One was that Zidane's group was once again owned, this time by Max and the Shining Force. (As a side note, Ghaleon felt a moment of pure elation when Zidane was stabbed with the Chaos Breaker; he didn't understand why, but he felt like all was right with the world at that moment.) The second was that Max and his group have strength in numbers and tactics. With the tactical genius of Max and the reinforcement of Darksol's group, these are now at near epic proportions.

The last thing they forgot was that Sephiroth was busy figuring out how to beat Celes Chere. He wasn't worried, but thought that defeating a fellow FF character too easily would be humiliating to the entire series, and he was figuring out how to beat her gently, if that was at all possible. Henceforth, Sephiroth was busy elsewhere, and never knew that Max and his group were currently destroying his villa.

The morning after the battle, Sephiroth came back to freshen up before his match. The only thing he saw before his eyes went red with rage was his utterly destroyed mansion, and the badly-mangled bodies of Rashidi and Loki, surrounded by the (newly-healed) sleeping figures of Zidane and his crew.

After all, as Darksol had said to Max, following their victorious battle, it's always better to put the blame on someone else than on yourself.

Sephiroth never did find out it was Max and his Shining Force. The punishment he wrecked on Zidane and his crew became the new thing of legends.
