Season 24, Week 3
Edwin Odesseiron
(Baldur's Gate series)

Edwin goes from the tricky, slippery Malik to the grizzled powerhouse Drachma. Edwin's incredibly large and diverse spellset will, of course, allow him to adapt to such a different opponent. Should Drachma try to use anything but his trademark Hand of Fate, Edwin will simply shut it down with Mirror Image. If Drachma tries that, Edwin can whittle him down with Flame Arrow, then stop Drachma cold with the proper Power Word right before he unleashes his best move. As usual, the master red wizard will live up to his bragging and claim an easy victory.

Ah, the subtle twist of a wizard's spell, the gentle yet effective strategy of a healer. Drachma laughs at all of this and just smashes foes into the dirt! He'll be looking to add a third win to his name by overcoming a powerful red wizard - one who comes armed with a formidable bag of tricks. But Drachma's Shard of Purity and excellent stats can shrug off any sort of status Edwin can throw at him, and there's not a single trick in that bag Edwin has that can slow down the extremely powerful, extremely large, and extremely fatal Hand of Fate.

A grumbling Edwin was forced to throw the match ahead of time, citing an inescapable mission elsewhere for his rather unforgiving masters in the Red Scourge.

Not that he was too upset over it. He was the one man who knew the notorious Mother's true identity, amusingly enough, and it would probably be almost pathetically easy to put a stop to his (well, her) little cult uprising, earning glory from his superiors and maybe some sort of reward from the local government as well. All in all, not a bad bargain for missing a match he hadn't really been looking forward to fighting anyway.

Edwin Odesseiron: 12
Drachma: 28

Sure, Edwin is a tough Red Wizard, with all sorts of crazy magic and special abilities, but Drachma takes FOREVER to take down. Spirit Charge allows him to guard and give himself a massive SP boost at the same time, and once he pulls out his Hand of Fate... splat.
