Season 3, Week 2
Lenneth Valkyrie
(Valkyrie Profile Series)

Ah the ambigutiy of Valkyrie Profile characters. It has been claimed that Lenneth is resistant to status. Certainly she alone is cured of all statuses at the end of battle, but whether status chances on her are lower in-battle is harder to judge. Similarly, it has been claimed that the Glance Reviver boosts her parties' chances of acting first. It may well do so, but then again for all we know the Timer Ring might too. Regardless, we know she has far and away the highest PC defence through unique equips, and a 30% block rate plus an additional chance to avoid. We also know that with GR her regular attack on its own far outdamages her cast, making the gap between Terra's Ultima and Sabin's Bum Rush look small. Furthermore, once an enemy is knocked in the air in VP they can't dodge, block, counter, or even reflect spells, so Lenneth can get in three hits without interruption. Still, Odd Eye is not a good draw for any PC.

The greatest of the Greater Devils that served Zeon, General Odd Eye may well be the most deadly dueller to ever step out of a Strategy RPG. A tough draw for both bosses and PCs alike, Odd Eye boasts fearsome attack power, a magical backup in Odd Eye Beam, and insane speed resulting in two attacks a round. He's also a counterattack specialist with his Counter Sword, and has good durability. But what makes him worst of all for a PC is the sleep effect on his attacks, meaning not only do they feel a world of pain thanks to Odd Eye's strikes, but they also get put to sleep, a sleep from which there is no way to recover from besides time. A pity that time is never something someone on the end of Odd Eye's sword has...

Elfboy
If both the top general of the Greater Devils and Valkyrie-turned-supreme-being were both able-bodied, there's really little doubt that Lenneth would have the edge in a match of swordplay.

However, after Odd Eye drew first blood, Lenneth no longer had the advantage, since she was no longer able-bodied by virtue of being asleep. Which caused the edge to swing decidedly in the direction of her opponent.
