Love Attorney Flonne in
"Schoolyard Angel"

~CmdrKing

Etna was just paying off the latest line of the Prinny Maintenance Company when Flonne came in.
"Etna, aren't we supposed to pay each prinny 350 Hell per hour? You only have 350 split between the three of them."
Etna growled inarticulately, but paid off the maintenance crew, caught by Flonne's words.
The money settled, and Flonne having safely avoided the bad spot in the floor covered up by a conveniently placed oriental rug, Etna decided to bite the bullet and speak to her erstwhile employer.
"Hey Floooonneeee. Do you think maybe we shouldn't start taking more cases? You can only dispose of so many landlords before someone gets suspicious."
"D-dispose of?! I thought you were paying them rent!"
Etna choked back a number of curses. "Well, you know, it's pretty hard when you give away all your business to sob stories."
Flonne stamped her foot indignantly. "Etna, you should be ashamed! Money isn't nearly as important as helping people find true love when they're in trouble!"
Etna sighed, deciding this was going no where. "Fine, I'll just have to raid Hoggmeiser's house this week too."
Just as she was about to leave, since it would take quite a while to finish the desk launcher she'd ordered from Rosenqueens, a young blonde girl forced her way in. "Oohh, how could Sir Flik do this to me? I must see Flonne!"
Etna stuttered for a bit, shocked at the girls sheer singleminded-ness, then decided it'd be better to keep on walking, and left.

Quickly finding Flonne's office, Nina immediately launched into her tale of woe. "I don't know what to do. Sir Flik is such a great man, always saving me from danger and taking the time to be kind and caring and loving and... and... I made him lunch and everything and now he said he has a 'restraining order' and says I can't be anywhere near him and I love him so much and I don't know what to do!"
Flonne tried her best to comfort the schoolgirl. "It's alright, sometimes it takes the ones we love a long time to realize that they love us too. Just give Flik time, he's sure to come around!"
"But... but but..."
Flonne was right on top of things, it seemed. "Don't worry! I'm sure that if we just explain to the court how sincere your love is, they'll throw out this silly order and let Love take its course!"
Nina looked up from her handkerchief, teary eyed. "Really?"
Flonne lit up, her resolve radiating brightly. "Of course, or my name isn't Flonne, Attorney at Love!"

Once again the stage is set for Love's day in court. Flik has come prepared, hiring the services of Leon Silverburg himself to uphold his restraining order. With the Honorable Judge Olan presiding, all eyes turn to one determined Love-Freak.

How will Flonne fare in this tale of schoolyard romance?

  • Flonne moves Olan, and the restraining order is revoked.
  • Though Olan finds the restraining order sounds, Flonne moves Flik so that he relents and has the order terminated.
  • Leon effortlessly convinces Olan to uphold the order.
  • Leon manages not only to uphold the restraining order, but have Nina arrested for stalking.

Court had been dismissed. Not even Flonne's spirited defense could stand in the way of Leon's meticulous and mountainous mass of evidence. Poor Nina had been taken to serve time for her long and (to the minds of most, anyway) disturbing history of stalking the Blue Lightning. Flonne, however, was still there, wondering how she could have failed so badly.
Unexpected, however, Flonne found she had company. And not who she would have thought.
Flik smiled comfortingly. "You really believe in this, don't you?"
Flonne sniffed a little. "Of course! People need all the help they can to find Love!"
Flik stared somewhere beyond the courtroom. "You're right. And I think Nina needs more help than she knows." Flonne looked up, puzzled, before Flik continued. "See, I already found my love. This sword, Odessa, is a reminder of that."
"What... happened?"
"She died, fighting for what she believed in, against an empire that had forgotten to love its people." Flik ruffled his hair uneasily. "Well... anyway, just let Nina know I hope she's alright, and that she finds real Love someday." The Blue Lightning wandered off.
Flonne perked up, understanding. "Flik is right!" she said to no one in particular. "People need Love more than anything, and I can't let them down!" She lept onto the desk. "World, my name is Flonne, and I'll help you find Love yet! Better watch out next time!"

AAA
The basis of all laws that govern any civilization, fictional or not, demands that the restraining order be lifted immediately.

What law?

"The schoolgirl always wins. ALWAYS."

What do you mean, you never saw that? Obviously you never read the fine print.

Flik? Successfully keep Nina away from him? I'm sure that violates some fundamental law of the universe.
