Season 22, Week 3
Virginia Maxwell
(Wild Arms 3)

After last wee's...rather insulting (and somewhat morally wrong) choice of opponent in the canine Destiny Star called Koroku, Virginia now faces off against a fellow female ranged fighter - of sorts, at least. Granted, this fight is going to be a bit more difficult than kicking a puppy, since opponent can get around her evade with magic, and has healing. But Virginia's not without options: her opponent's damage isn't all that special, and Virginia's still got the speed edge. She can endure his hits long enough to land a few well-placed shots to build up her FP, and then a finale with Gatling should be all she needs to beat her royal foe.

Already, the Princess of Obel has had more success in the DL than her father Lino en Kuldes. But now she's run into one of Light’s elite, Virginia Maxwell. Both are determined, bright, cheerful, and optimistic girls. Both use aerial weapons to kill people. But the one thing that that Virginia lacks might just cost her the fight. That's magic, which Suikoden fighters have by the truckload. With the Wind Rune, Flare can knock Virginia out cold with the accurate Wind of Sleep, and it’s all downhill for Ginny from there. After a couple of rounds of The Shredding, Flare will put the nail in the coffin with Funeral Wind, sealing a clean victory.

Virginia could have won this.

Really.

She could have.

Except her entire wardrobe, from socks to dresses, had been torn apart and reeking with doggy wee-wee when she woke up, and she wasn't exactly going to walk around the League in her nightgown, not with all the perverts roaming around. Her land line had also been mysteriously chewed in half, and her cell phone had gone missing so she couldn't just call her friends for a spare. If Maya was here, she could have asked her for some clothes, but she had been spending the entire week partying with her crew, celebrating her brother's first win.

And thus, Virginia moped in her room, while Flare was announced the winner.

And in the audience seatings for the Flare vs. Virginia match, a diminuitive figure smiled an evil little grin while he watched the Obel princess advance to the next round. 'Such is the fate of those who oppose Chima, the Devil star,' he barked to himself before walking away with his gang of five.

Virginia Maxwell: 20
Flare: 27

Virginia needs a few good shots, but Flare's already got a high evade. Plus, what good is Virginia when she's snoozing? Falling to the ground and positioning her rear into the sky?
