Season 22, Week 3
Feena
(Grandia)

Feena's time magic has already ended the season early for one unlucky victim, and next up on Feena's hit list is a mage every bit as resourceful as herself, Lulu. Her doublecast magic can do a number on any dueller in the league, and Feena's no exception there. Likewise, her incredible evasion will foil any physical offensive, including a whip. And her Phantom Bangle will render much of Feena's magical arsenal worthless. But for all her defenses, her evasion and her damage, Lulu is very, very slow. And not only is Feena very fast, but fighting a particularly slow opponent will give her more than enough time to let loose Timegate. With Lulu helpless against End of the World (which can be neither defended nor absorbed) and Zap Whip, she'll never get a chance to move, much less cast spells.

Having defeated the infamous General Leo, Lulu now turns to the Icarian Feena, also notorious for her associations with people who simply will not stay dead. This week's fight poses a unique challenge for the doll-wielding mage; while most opponents can get the drop on Lulu, few can pile together all of their resources into that first assault the way Feena can. Of course, few of the fighters Feena has defeated have had the absurd resistance to magic Lulu possesses, and with the Phantom Bangle supplementing that defense Feena will be hard pressed to find ways to affectively tackle it. After she survives the Time Gate barrage, Lulu can stroll to victory, as Feena will have spent all her resources on the costly spells in her arsenal, letting the Guardian cast the fatal Flare at her leisure.

"Mmmph. You have a mutual interest in Feena losing?" Lulu gave the arrogant esper opposite her a cold stare. Finding Rune hadn't been easy, but it would be worth it. "Just come and stand by the ring."

Rune's smile was certainly charming, and almost certainly wasted on Lulu. "I'll be glad. That fool's woman has stopped me for long enough. Payback is in order. Perhaps we can get to know each other after this."

"Perhaps."

Lulu stood at attention, watching as Rune filed into the stands, right behind Feena. Surprisingly, Justin wasn't there. Seeing Rune in place, she shrugged and glided over towards Feena.

"Want to bet?" Without another word, Lulu fired off a doublecast Flare at Rune, oblierating the Esper on the spot. The medics had Rune back on his feet quickly enough, but he was obviously battered by the attack.

"How.. how is that legal?! Disquailify he- ARG!" Another brutal set of Flares fell on Rune, knocking him out again. As the medics attempted to revive Rune once again, Lulu glided over to the refs.

"There's.. nothing wrong with what I did, was there?"

"Nothing, as far as I can see." Judge Edge was leering at Lulu, enjoying the view and the beating on Rune.

"No infraction." Baal's face glowered at Feena and Rune, obviously annoyed at what happened.

"Hey! That wasn't fair!" Justin's face lit up in outrage... only to be frozen to the ground.

"I'll take over from here." Celia threw the shadow stitched Justin out of the way, and sat down in his spot. "No foul."

Feena's faced hardened a bit, and she nodded grimly. "Fine." Turning around, she glared at Rune, who was just beginning to reach his feet. She reached the very end of the arena, and was preparing to launch an attack. No one got to see which attack was used, as Feena was knocked off balance.. and out of the ring, by a push from a tiny little moogle.

Smiling at Rune, Lulu fired off another set of double Flares, knocking out Rune yet again. Claiming victory, Lulu looked calm, as she walked out of the arena.

"The bet was to see if I could win without casting a single spell on you."

Outside the amazing damage output, these two really have only one thing in common; the strangest taste in men. I mean, really, Justin and Wakka are complete goofballs, and you can't help but wonder what they see in them.
Realizing this, they decided to turn their match into a public vote. Justin vs Wakka in an arena-side popularity contest.
Now, in a normal room, this'd be a match. Wakka's not the most popular guy, and Justin's dimwittery is legendary.
In the DL world... well, Justin has a lot of enemies.

So in the end the deciding vote came down, somehow, to Rune Walsh. I think you can guess how that went.
