Season 22, Week 3
Ghaleon
(Lunar Series)

A minion going against her boss? Truly, if there is a god of fate, he must be fond of plot twists. He must also be fond of one-sided beatings, since this fight is as one-sided as they get. Simply put, the Magic Emperor outclasses his fortune teller underling in every way. Offense? Ghaleon can cast two spells for every one of Royce. Defense? Chaos Shield effectively stops whatever attack Royce can think of, an ability that Royce can not hope to counter. Weaknesses? Royce is vulnerable to ice magic, such as the Magic Emporer's Nitro Daggers, and Ghaleon's one glaring isse, his speed, is a non-factor since the Vile Tribe sister is jush as sluggish. There may be a few Godlikes out there who could prevent him from claiming a fourth Championship, but Royce will be nothing more than a speed bump.

Royce has quite an uphill battle this week. Being matched against a three-time Godlike champion is one thing, but the final boss from her own game? Not exactly a recipe for success. Still, Royce's gotta have something going for her... after all, she's often considered the better boss fight of the two. Some of those things are bound to translate, right? Well, her dreaded Sleep Curse won't, nor will her fire resistance (unless she can somehow get her master to mix up her elemental affinities). What might help is her punishing Shot Lancer attack, stronger than anything Ghaleon has in his arsenal and the perfect tool to carve through Ghaleon's defences. Royce still faces an uphill battle, but upsets do happen in the RPGDL, and the middle Vile Tribe sister intends to be on the winning end of one.

This is something along the lines of Zio fighting the Profound Darkness, Izlude fighting Vormav, or half the army of the Jowston League of City-States versus Luca Blight at full strength. Royce, vile tribesman and seer(?), is fighting Ghaleon, Magic Emperor and Dragonmaster to the False Althena.

Ghaleon has previously exhibited the fact that he only really loses in one-on-one combat to enemies who are strong against or immune to magic, which Royce is not. Royce is also, like Xenobia, fanatically devoted to the Magic Emperor, and has previously served as one of his underlings.

... I tried very, very hard to give situations in which Tir could defeat Ghaleon last season, but I honestly can't think of any aside from fashion contest, and even then it would be iffy because Ghaleon has the Bishounen-Elf thing going for him. Ghaleon wins, hands down.
