Dead in the Dark

~DomaDragoon

In an unnamed forest, miles away from civilization, a young man reflects over his fate. "Klaatu verata nikto. I said them right. I know I said them right. Well, I got the gist of it, anyway," muttered Ashley Winchester as he paced in the abandoned cabin he had been transported to, glancing hatefully at the book in his hands.

When Lilka had asked him to pass her the copy of the Necronomicon they had recently picked up, he happened to start reading it, just out of curiosity. The next thing he knew, he was being hurtled through time and space to this place. "Well, I suppose there's nothing to do but wait until sunrise to try and figure out where I am. Heck, maybe a little rustic vacation will do me well."

Meanwhile, at the forgotten graveyard built on a gateway to hell that will one day become a Starbucks, Neclord smiled. "The book has returned. Now, at last, my army of darkness will rise again!" Laughing maniacally, the ground shifted below him as the dead rose from their graves and shambled towards the Necronomicon...

Out of boredom, Ashely continued to read through the Book of the Dead, silently this time. "Speak not these words incorrectly, lest ye unleash the power of the Deadites. They shall chase thee where'er ye go, and try and take the book for their master. Naught but the light of morn can cease their hunt for the Necronomicon and thy soul. Oh, and there's a nice surprise for you in the closet."

Shrugging, he opened the closet door and found himself knee-deep in Bullet Clips. Staring in wonder at the tome, Ashley stuffed his pockets, grabbed his ARMs and the book, and marched off into the night, with one final statement.

"Come get some."

  • Ashley lasts till dawn
  • Neclord's forces retrieve the book

Hate Hate Hate
Neclord was feeling quite good with himself that night.

And why shouldn't he? The Necronomicon had returned, along with his undead army, the world was soon to be his, and that Starbucks wasn't to come for another couple of thousand years. "As for that insolent boy, I'LL SWALLOW HIS SOUL!!!"

When Neclord got to Ashley though, he was in for a rather nasty surprise. It seemed that on his way out, Ashley had managed to convince the arrogant Luca Blight to aid him in his battle against the Army Of Darkness(tm). What followed next was an all-out war that should be made into a movie, including a decked-out Lombardia and a zombified Lilka.

Finally, the last words Neclord ever heard before his close encounter of a butt-kicking kind with Ashley's Knightblazer form were: "Buckle up bonehead, you're going for a ride".

As we all know, guns > zombies. And as we all know, Ashley's bayonet is a powerful tool with lots of different gun-related abilities. Add in all the ammo and Neclord's ability to be incompetent, and a winner is Ashley.
