Season 21, Week 4
Cecil Harvey
(Final Fantasy IV)

The two fighters in this match couldn't be more different - Cecil the virtuous beacon of justice versus Zeal the evil and insane monarch - but they share a hungering desire to win. As epic as a clash this could potentially be, a long, showy battle with the evil sorceress is the last thing on Cecil's mind. He just wants to do what he always does; stab people with his sword until they die. If it worked against Zeromus and it worked against Tiamat, there's no reason it won't work against a third villainous being of magic...

Queen Zeal awaits this match laughing harder than ever. After disposing of an ugly old man who brought nothing but shame to his god, what would make a better cool-down exercise than making a self-important warrior of the light bow down to her? Cecil's pathetic healing is hopeless against Zeal's brutal Hallation and MP Buster combo. An easy victory, but that's not the point. Having felled an ugly old man and a bishie, Zeal will finally have proven that the insane woman is truly the strongest of RPG character archetypes.

Wind, whistling through the treetops...

Caressing Cecil's face...

His horribly lacerated face...

It turns out that Zeal's pretty persuasive, when she comes backed up with Lavos' plot power.

She talked some judges into making the Dark Omen the battleground. When she transformed, she then had it drop to the ground.

A giant mask and a pair of hands float.

Cecil doesn't.

So, ultimately, Zeal wins on the technicality that you can't ring out if you're just above the ring ground, no matter how far above the ring you are, and heads on to the finals.

While they're trying to get Cecil out of that 40-foot oak he's stuck halfway through.

Which is on it's side.

Poor guy.
