Season 21, Week 3
Zophar
(Lunar 2: Eternal Blue)

It’s the quarterfinals already, and the reigning Godlike Champion is still going strong. His next victim is Chris Lightfellow, a mediocre Godlike that warrants no change in the Destroyer's usual tactics. It's hardly the most innovative strategy, but Zophar cares not a whit about originality. All he cares about is destruction, and destruction is what will commence once he casts his powerful Fate Storm. Insane overkilling damage… or instant death. Whichever this powerful move inflicts is of little consquence. Now all he needs to do is get a turn in before Silent Lake renders him speechless. If he can do that, his victory is ensured.

One world-consuming evil down, one to go. Zophar commands much more respect and fear than Chris's last opponent, but this is an uncommonly easy task for the Zexen Captain. For all his power, for all the threats and minions and corruptions of humanity, Zophar has one crippling flaw; he is a being of pure Magic. Enter the True Water Rune’s most debilitating power, the unstoppable Silent Lake. The spell is unlikely to negate Zophar’s existence, but it's sure to utterly cripple his offense - leaving Chris to hack up his cursed form at her leisure for likely the easiest win of any dueller this season.

Zophar's not a dumb villain. He knows his own strengths, voice acting included, and is careful to play towards them. On principle, there's no way he'd ever confront a woman who had the ability to silence his infamous evil laugh. Zophar has a whole process for confrontations like this and the laugh is absolutely indispensable. With the laugh, even defeat may come with dignity, but without it there can be no fight.

Zophar's sinister laughter shook the arena, causing minor tremors on the ground floor and the cheap seats to collapse, injuring some hapless ape-man. "Foolish woman! Have you any idea what you face? I AM ZOPHAR, MASTER OF THIS WORLD, AND SOON ALL WORLDS!! Tremble before me, and perhaps you shall live a while longer."
Chris said nothing, merely readying herself for battle.
Moving with the sluggishness to be expected of his enormous frame, Zophar began casting his potent magicks. He let loose another laugh... or rather, tried to. Nothing happened.
Smiling tightly, Chris went to work. The results are best compared to shoving an entire cow into a meat grinder.
Finished, she cleaned her sword and sheathed it. "He couldn't even manage a good pre-battle speach? By the goddess, LUC did better..."
