Season 20, Week 4
Zophar
(Lunar 2: Eternal Blue)

The peerless Zophar needs no introduction, having once again breezed airily through the most imposing of divisions. The finals bout is already approaching and this time there will be no mistake. Being himself (herself?) the only remaining Godlike of the season not to hold a championship title already, the Destroyer will eagerly direct all of his incalculable power towards the task of eliminating this distinction. Melfice may hold the edge in speed and maintain his pathetic self-confidence as the champion of the eleventh season, but the Horns of Valmar cannot even hope to match the raw and decisive power of Zophar, much less lay him low with a few quick swipes as Melfice surely plans. The combatants are unlikely to stray from their trademark moves; the Wailing Soul Slash, formidable in its own right as befits the demented swordsman who revels in its indiscriminate use, will simply be met with the calamitous Fate Storm, completely ensuring a clean kill as always. Destruction and devastation, pure and sweet as they are, shall be the victor's spoils.

Thirteen victories. Only Ghaleon can boast more; Fou-Lu and Sephiroth are his equals. Melfice has it all, as far as the Duelling League goes. He's in the top five for numeric rank, has never lost before the semifinals in any season, and was responsible for one of the most dominating title runs ever recorded. He is in a class of his own, having truly earned his place as one of the DL's most decorated fighters. What does that mean to Zophar? Not much, until you consider that the Destroyer of the Blue Sphere, for all his fame and power, has never quite been able to defeat a Godlike champion or earn a title himself, despite his numerous chances. Could it be that one of Godlike's most respected and feared combatants is a choke artist? Ready or not, Melfice has come to put him to the test. As the ponderous Zophar slowly prepares his spells, he'll struggle to withstand his opponent's blazing speed and ruinous Wailing Soul Slash. This may be Melfice's greatest challenge yet, but he can rely on his dark god Valmar to bless his loyal servant with glorious triumph.

It was an epic battle. Hell Storms and Wailing Soul Slashes were traded, bodies shattered upon impact, the ground itself torn apart by the damage.

Or so everyone expected.

Melfice never made it to the arena. Apparently, FA and Genevieve had figured out that they had been tricked by him, and both went hunting for his head, rules be damned. No one questioned the wisdom of Melfice taking a very long and very immedate vacation from the arena, considering the dead bodies in the girl's wake..

Zophar: 38
Melfice: 19

Zophar was just more powerful then Melfice, end of story.
