Season 20, Week 3
Terra Branford
(Final Fantasy VI)

Godlike this week features a friendly duel between two of the DL's premier magesses. While it's true that Yuna is generally considered to be a much more dangerous opponent, Terra Branford is not about to let reputation get in the way of business. Though both girls boast a large repertoire of offensive and defensive spells, Yuna summons monsters to fight for her, while Terra prefers to do her own dirty work. She'll need every last bit of power she can scrap together through morphing in order to take down Yuna, but with the Drain spell to keep her alive, she should easily be able to wear through Yuna's magical menagerie.

Yuna's match this week is peppered with a slight dash of irony. Terra Branford, a long-term DL friend of hers, stopped Jecht's run of terror last week, much to Yuna's joy... but this isn't the time for niceties. Despite her gratitude, the gentle summoner of Spira must defeat the powerful half-Esper to win her second Godlike championship. Fortunately, Yuna has all the right cards in her hands: Anima's Pain alone shall be enough to quickly halt Terra's magical arsenal and power. If not, Yuna still has a bevy of Aeons Terra will have to go through, and not even Drain will keep the former Imperial soldier going on for that long.

The arena was tense.

Blows rained upon both contestants, and massive explosions were called forth. Summons were called, and Terra winced, but lashed back with her powerful magic...

"...why? Why?" Hiro said, staring down at the arena.

"Why in god's name did Yuna and Terra decide to settle this match with Star Ocean 3's VS Mode?" He said, watching Terra and Yuna anxiously work their controllers. "Terra's never even played a video game in her life, and it's outright painful watching her..." He said, watching Terra's Sophia walk into Yuna's Peppita's Fairy Friend attack.

"Yuna said it was the closest thing to a fair match they could get." The girl in the judge's box next to him said.

"...ugh, this is making me dizzy, I'm going to just look away until it's ended, okay?" Sophia said, pulling out a magazine.
