Season 20, Week 2
Tai Ho
(Suikoden Series)

Fresh from his latest tournament win on the DL Bass Fishermen's Classic on Lake Toran, Tai Ho is ready to prove his worth in a different kind of tournament, the DL Arena! He hears that Renault's mysterious nature is only exceeded by his power, but Tai Ho isn't the type to believe in rumors. He has luck on his side, as well as a damn trusty, pointy harpoon. With trust in one and the stabbing power of the other this sturdy outdoorsman has set his eyes on the Light Championship, and no pansy priest will keep him from it.

The mysterious former servant of Nergal has fought for years to and find redemption. Now, this quest has brought him to the DL, where he hopes that he'll finally be able to face up to his dark past. His holy books ready, the master bishop can strike the poor fisherman with no fear of counterattack, with more than enough power to kill. And with his extensive training, years upon years before as a military hero, Renault is more than capable of weathering or even dodging the trident strikes that Tai Ho might throw his way.

Tai Ho blinked. "No", he thought to himself, "I must have had too much to drink last night..." He was supposed to be fighting a frail bishop, yet on the other side of the ring stood a battle-hardened hero with a shiny shield and a variety of rather painful looking axes and swords.

The judge, Mid-Boss announced: "And now, let us begin the first Light eliminations match this week. The contestants are Tai Ho and Ren...ah, pardon moi, sir, but who are you and where is Renault?"

"Ah...I AM Renault", the hero said with an annoyed tone in his voice.

"Hmm? I have trouble believing you...Renault is supposed to be a bishop, is he not?"

"Ever heard of class changing?"

"But it would appear that people of Elibe cannot change between promoted classes..."

"You sure about that?", Renault snorted, taking aim at the judge with his Tomahawk.

"Non non non...of course, I believe you..ahahahah. Well then, let us get this battle started!"

Tai Ho madly charged at Renault with his trusty harpoon. However, the hero simply sidestepped, and surprisingly didn't show any signs of wanting to fight.

"Hmph. I did not wish to fight with brute strength again...to slay more humans with my blades. But today, I will have vengeance...in the name of my lost friend!"

Renault threw his Tomahawk at Tai Ho...

Well, actually not directly at him. The axe just barely missed the fisherman's head and instead flew towards the audience, killing Nergal, who was watching the battle in hopes of being able to steal the loser's quintessence after the match.

"I've accomplished what I came here for...I will now forfeit. Elimine's blessings to you, fisherman", Renault said and walked out of the ring.

On a random note, the sales of "Sex God Renault" shirts tripled after the match.
