Season 20, Week 2
Arc Eda Ricolne
(Arc the Lad Collection)

Clearly this is a case of heroic destiny fulfilled! A foul villain now awaits our hero in the arena, if not quite the foe he originally intended to face. Regardless, in keeping with the routines this battle represents, Arc's ready to make sure that good will triumph over evil as usual. The power of Wailing Soul Slash is notorious even in Godlike, but Arc can laugh off even this. Invincibility is definitely a confidence-boosting trick, and it's one that the Horn of Valmar has no clear way around. Arc's no one-trick pony, either; with Gale Flash and Total Heal rounding out our protagonist's skillset, the outcome of this match seems foreordained.

The last time Melfice got a shot in the Duelling League, it took a season and a half plus a goddess on par with his own Valmar to slow his battle march. This season, the Horn of Valmar finds his rightful division lacking any such obstructions. Boasting his usual incredible stats and solid damage, Melfice is quite ready to carve himself another chapter in his glorious DL history, so a laughable division doormat like Arc is almost a disappointment. A couple of Wailing Soul Slashes from one of Godlike's real contenders will shred Arc's body along with his misplaced ambitions, setting Melfice on the road to victory in the name of his dark god.

Wailing Soul Slash is most deserving of it's name, as victims tend to scream in agony after a single hit. In this case, nothing but silence was heard out of the victim.

When asked about this after the fight, the victor merely laughed and spouted off a quote on the matter.

"Sometimes, even Silence is golden. And much quicker than waiting out Invincible."
