Season 19, Week 5
Reis Dular
(Final Fantasy Tactics)

Reis has already learned the secret to victory in her division. With two successful runs through Light already, she's shown the weakest division in the DL the power of dragons, and Elly is about to get a lesson. Her breath attacks, boosted by the power of her Holy Dragon form, can ignore Elly's one good stat, Ether Defense. With superior speed and durability, that offense will be more than enough to knock off Elly, and at last add a championship to her impressive DL resume.

Elhaym has waited a long time for this moment, and no one can stop her now. Elly's Lunar Rod will put the Dragoner into a deep slumber from which she shall never return. If Reis decides to use her human form to access equipment, things should get even worse: her breath attacks and defense will suffer, making Elly's job even easier. After three frustrating tries, Elly will finally attain a championship belt - and the second Xenogears Light championship in a row!

As Elly and Reis squared each other up, a lone figure came up into the arena's VIP section from the fighter's waiting area. The cheapass stadium lighting (purchased at a police auction when the authorities seized HammerCo's assets) caused the man's silver hair to glow.

"I know this man..." Elly thought to herself. It was rare when she did not meet Fei among her many incarnations, but she remembered every time. It was quite the same story, but this man was different.

Fou-Lu watched the red-haired woman silently, almost appraisingly, with the same thoughts on his mind (with woman in place of man, of course). This woman seemed eerily familiar to him as well... but from where?

The words escaped their lips at the same time.

"Fou-Lu"
"Mamie"

The woman who had sacrificed herself so he could live, who had been used to kill him. Fou-Lu reached into his pocket and pulled out Mamie's bell. After looking at it nostalgically for a moment, he shook it once. It rang tinkled gently. Not many people heard it.

But Elly did. Her eyes went wide, and the memories flooded back into her mind. She suddenly remembered everything. She then fainted.

Fou-Lu was the first one to step into the arena to pick her up. Before the med-team, before Fei, who just arrived on the scene after he was finished picking Elly up. The godlike finalist simply glared at the long-haired gear pilot. "Away, foul knave." He then carried her out of the arena.

Of course, this didn't end in a disqualification for Elly, as most all of this happened AFTER she finished pasting Reis against the wall.

Reis Dular: 27
Elly van Houten: 46

I think Elly is going to win just because of the sheer ownage that is death blows and her powerful ether attacks.
