Season 19, Week 3
Ash Lambert
(Vandal Hearts)

After destroying his top-hatted opponent last week, the Vandalier must be feeling great about his chances at a second championship. He must not take his current foe lightly, though; though he may not be as powerful as his godly counterpart Fou-lu, Ryu the fourth still packs a punch with his deadly dragon attacks. Ash’s tried-and-true tactics of smashing the enemy with his sword and healing when needed will prove handy in this fight, as the dragon’s forms are fairly easy to kill with a couple smacks of the sword. No puny dragon will stand in the way of Ash Lambert's second Godlike conquest!

After soundly trouncing Rika last week, Ryu moves onto another opponent known for lasting annoyingly long in fights. Unlike Rika, however, Ash is the type of healer Ryu laughs at - his speed is merely middling, and he is quite vulnerable to status. With a host of status effects from Punk, including the dreaded omni-stat breaking Stardrop, Ryu can quickly disable Ash. After that, its just a beatdown strategy with Kaiserbreath and Aura Smash to blast right through Ash's normally impressive defenses. Another easy victory for the Yorae dragon on his road to the finals.

There's many ways to thwart Ryu4. Lots of HP, healing, status immunity.. however, while Ash has claims to all of those, he forgot the final trick to beating Ryu. Showing up to the fight and taking him seriously.

Calling him the bigger godlike failure than Roger Bacon was mistake one. Laughing at his offense then deciding not to heal after Ryu starting chipping while in Kaiser was mistake two.

Deciding to drop his guard and yell "Give me your best shot!" as Ryu was charging Kaiser breath was both mistake three, and worth a long stay in the DL infirmary afterwards.
