Season 18, Week 4
Rosa Harvey
(Final Fantasy IV)

Elc, the lad, has finally come to his end. Rosa Farrel, wife of Cecil and renowned White Mage, has exactly the perfect counter to the Invincible spell: healing. Loads and loads of healing. She also has status-spells to draw on, with effects from shrinking Elc to the size of a midget to berserking him into forgetting all his convenient magics. Add in a powerful attack spell like Holy to that arsenal and Rosa is up for an easy win in this match. It might not be one of her most exciting matches, but she needs no preparation to outlast her opponent.

A balanced approach to duelling is Elc's credo, and he lives and breathes this in the arena. With a good physical backed up by Charge, he covers physical combat well. Divide and Invincible provide Elc with magical options in longer battles, and all of that is backed up by his Heavy-caliber stats. With no real flaws for Rosa to exploit, it's simply a matter of picking and choosing which of his deadly attacks to use, and deciding which will be the blow that knocks out the legendary White Wizard out of contention for the Heavy Championship.

You know, there's one big problem Rosa's had, her entire life.

She attracts spearmen.

She has no clue why.

(Maybe she attracts the kind of man that overcompensates with a large lance, though that doesn't explain why Cloud hasn't hit on her yet.)

So, as Elc, totally ignoring glares from Lieza, asked Rosa out to dinner, Rosa decided this was a easy out on the match, and told him she would if he'd call the match. He accepted.

Then Cecil and Kain tried to kill him.

...And he beat both.

From there...well, if you've seen a tabloid recently, you probably know the rest. Suffice it to say that Cecil hasn't spoken to Rosa in a few days, and that Elc and Rosa's tempestous love affair has been the talk of the Duelling League.

In fairness, she traded up to someone more masculine, at least.
