Season 18, Week 2
Cyan Garamonde
(Final Fantasy VI)

Cyan's first opponent of the season has half the syllables of his name...and probably less than half of his battle prowess. As a Suikoden fighter with unremarkable physical offense and a worthless Rune, Tsai has no quick way of shutting Cyan down before one of his dreaded swordtechs comes into play. He certainly has no way of killing him suddenly, and as long as he time to think Cyan can easily pick the appropriate Sword Tech. Since he has time to think about it, only one real question remains: should Cyan Quadra Slice his opponent, or simply Cleave him in two? Either way this victory is bound to be a satisfying one.

The legendary "Tsai of the Divine Spear" earned his name creating spears, but, but Tsai will attempt today to prove that his fighting ability, too, is a thing of legend. While Tsai does not have access to his greatest work, a fire spear, he will have his trusty Raijin ong spear, and the unicorn rune to bypass Cyan's defenses. Tsai also has a great speed advantage in this battle, being able to attack instantly while Cyan charges for his stronger attacks. If Tsai can move quickly enough, he should be able to soundly defeat his opponent before Cyan even strikes, and prove that his title is not just for show.

It's simple really.

Though Tsai's spear may be divine, all he can do is thrust.

Cyan, on the other hand, has more variety in his techniques, striking many sensitive parts with impressive moves that is a joy to watch and leaves an unforgettable mark when experienced first hand, especially on one as unprotected as Tsai.

In other news, after much insisting and threatening with the couch from his wife, Tsai is now learning the art of swordplay under the tutelage of Cyan.
