Season 18, Week 2
Geddoe
(Suikoden III)

One shot. One shot may be all the chance Geddoe has to down his opponent in this match, but fortunately it's also all he needs. Hammer of Raijin delivers a mighty shock to any fighter, and while Rosa may have the magic defense to blunt the edge of the onslaught, her low HP is quite a liability. Given that if his first attack fails he's likely to spend the rest of a humiliating match silenced, shrunk to the size of a shoe, or even smacking himself into submission, Geddoe will surely marshall every effort towards making that one shot count.

The original damsel in distress has her third match of her career coming up, and she’s hoping that the third time is the charm. Although her opponent is a rather lucky fighter, Rosa Farrell has more than enough power to easily dispatch him. Lightning resistence granted by her Rune Ring destroys any hope of a quick win for Geddoe, and tons of healing, support spells, and Holy makes Rosa the clear victor in a long match. Geddoe might be a decent Heavy, but Rosa is going to prove that diversity is the key to success in this division.

Geddoe's thoughts had been simple enough. He had defeated healers who resisted his damage before, he could do it again. Simple.

Unfortunatly, he forgot something about elementary physics.

You see, Nina 4, the last healer he fought, floated. As such, any lightning attacks directed at her face very high electrical resistance, since air is a very poor conductor.

Hitting something on the ground with a lightning bolt actually does less damage than hitting something in the air with one, barring special preparation on the part of the thing in the air.

Therefore, Rosa lived through his lightning onslaught, healed, and blasted Geddoe with Holy.

Geddoe was later seen enrolling in college. You're never too old to learn.
