Season 18, Week 2
Luis Virgil
(Xenosaga: Der Wille Zur Macht)

Long has the Man in Blue been absent from the DL Arena, and his triumphant return calls for a decisive victory. He shall certainly have it; Lady Lightfellow's Silent Lake is a fearsome tool which shuts down Virgil's best damage, but it will avail her not against his stop-inducing physical. Once that's done its job, all of the Flame Champion's options will vanish. While the Silver Maiden's mighty defense will make it a long and gruelling battle, this simple tactic gives Virgil an inevitable victory, and places him on the path to a Godlike Championship.

Cool, calm, and collected, the Silver Maiden will enter the ring with a sword in hand and a plan in mind. Virgil is indeed a difficult foe, wielding powerful spells, fatal statuses, and the ability of flight, but he is not impossible to overcome. The Yellow Scarf will protect Chris from Virgil’s stop inflicting physicals, and a few strategic Silent Lakes is all she needs to avoid the Eternal Storm. With the Phoenix Rune to circumvent the robed man’s melee immunity, and a few Kindness Rains to wash away whatever wounds she receives, a victory is not out of reach for the Zexen Knight.

Chris lay on her back, bruised and on the brink of defeat. The True Water Rune failed to stop him, and the Phoenix rune failed to get past his flight. The Zexen knight looked up at the man in blue hovering over her, breathing deeply.

“There is no escape. Don't make me destroy you. You do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover you power. Join me and I will complete your training. With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the Duelling League,” Virgil reached his hand out to Chris.

“I'll never join you!” she screamed back.

“Oh, If you only knew the power of the dark side. Salome never told you what happened to your father.”

Chris remained silent, now puzzled.

Virgil clenched his hand. “Chris! I am your father!”

“No. No. That's not true! That's impossible!” Chris screamed in shocked disbelief.

“Search your feelings. You know it to be true.”

“No! No! No! It can’t be! My father’s sitting right over there!” Chris pointed out into the stands were, sure enough, Jimba was sitting.

“Oh. So he is. Too bad for you, really. You would have made a fine addition to our squad. ‘The Woman in Silver’, you would have been. But nooo, you just had to have a father already.” Virgil shook his head before firing off the finishing ether blast.

With that, Virgil floated out of the arena to the glorious fanfare of victory.
