Season 18, Week 1
Sephiroth
(Final Fantasy VII)

Out of the dark annals of early Duelling League history, he returns. Sephiroth, the one-winged angel, a champion fifteen long seasons ago, returns to bring his unique brand of all-around Godlike power to the arena. Few can match his blistering speed and the terrifying damage of his physical blows and Shadow Flare, and the mere servant of darkness he faces this round certainly can not count himself among their number. With his Wall spell to cut his opponent's damage in half, the Perfect SOLDIER is all but ensured yet another in his long line of easy victories, as he begins his march towards becoming the fourth Godlike to bear the mantle of champion for a second time.

Zio has returned, and he's prepared to show Sephiroth a thing or two about how pretty-boy villaining was done back in the day. You see, he never quite got over Sephiroth stealing his moves, and now he's out for some payback. He'll need that confidence, since he'll get no breaks from an enemy seeking to reclaim his position as the highest-ranked fighter alive. The power of his oppenent leaves Zio little room for manuevering, however; if he's going to win, he'll have to forego his usual status attacks and magic barrier and simply barrage Sephiroth with the power of Black Wave. With Dark Force lending him strength, that will be enough to fell even the one-winged angel.

Lord Windscar
Ah, Zio... such a bad history you have had in the DL. Facing your own god is one thing, but facing someone who completely outclasses you in every single way possible? You have but one real option.

Commit honorable seppuku with the Masamune.

Or so he wanted us to think, as he walked in the DL arena and used his mad Plot Powerz on Sephiroth. Yes, Sephiroth got obliterated. Yes, Zio got DQed. But at least he still maintains his pretty boy face.

Zio: 16
