Season 13, Week 1
Rune Walsh
(Phantasy Star 4)

Brilliant, arrogant, and one of the most popular bachelors to grace the Duelling League, renowned Esper Rune Walsh has finally returned for a second shot at a Middle crown. His first opponent, the inventor Lexis Shaia, is little match for Rune in a contest of sorcery; Rune is far more powerful, intelligent, good-looking, and - most importantly - fast. Whether he opts for the thunderous damage of Legeon or the high-accuracy instant death of Negatis, or even the more embarassing silence-magic Seals, Rune has an easy win ahead of him as he looks to make another mark on DL history, one even more impressive than his last.

Rune and Lexis might have much to talk about under any other circumstance, but a fights to the death certainly puts a damper on any friendly exchange of words. Armed with a wrench and loads of mechanical knowledge, the inventor must fight his way past one of the DL's many powerful Espers. It won't be easy; Rune has several generations of powerful sorcerers behind him, complete with their magical prowess. Despite this daunting task, Lexis is definitely up to it. With his own magic to hold back Rune's own onslaught, Lexis should easily be able to use his mechanical know-how to construct Rune's defeat and pave his way to the quarterfinals.

There was once an old rivalry in the DL. One so powerful, so earth shattering, so utterly climactic, that it shook the foundations of the very league.

The infamous Esper Rune walked in, and stared at his opponent, and sighed.

After a casting of Negatis later, Rune muttered to himself:

"Just you wait Justin...... I'll slaughter you one of these days!"

With that, he stormed out if the arena in a rage.
