Season 42, Week 3
Ramza Beoulve
(Final Fantasy Tactics)

Ramza was trained in the fine art of combat from a young age. The young noble did not specifically focus on one area of combat, spreading his time and interests around in the various fields of study. While he may not be a swordmaster or archmage, Ramza's well rounded approach gives him plenty of options in any fight. Against Lani, he'll be opting for a defensive approach to the fight. Aegis Shield? Check. White Robe, to blunt the worst of Lani's magic? Check. Rune Blade, to inflict as much physical pain as possible? Check. Against a blitzing style like Lani's, Ramza merely wishes to buy as much time with his defenses as possible. While the axewoman's magical assault may be impressive, her durablity's not - and a crafty veteran like Ramza can exploit every mistake and error that her power covered up in Light.

Ohohohohohoho, this is just rich. Lani has been through so many grueling battles since the beginning of her run and the best they could muster against her now that she's in Middle is a wimpy heretic? Well, that's going to be a laugh. Ramza Beoulve may have made a name for himself in the Ivalice of yore, but his duelling skills? They're certainly not up to the task of outstripping Lani's notable magical offense. His equipment-based spoiling won't be enough to wall all of the elemental spells Lani has at her back and call, and with a large speed advantage, the hunter can enjoy a quick, fast blitz, which Ramza, with his underwhelming weaponry and uninspiring magical offense, can't ever dream to achieve. As such, Lani's rampage through DL divisions is far from over, and may the next fight bring someone more in line with her power!

Whatever can be said about Ramza, he does his homework. As such, he had studied Lani's battle capabilities extensively but had to admit he was outmatched after one discovery.

Lani's axe does not randomly do crap damage.

Seeking her out, he mentioned that she deserved to win and proposed a solution that would be less painful for the both of them. Due to her time with the Moogles in Madain Sari, Lani was actually glad to have a way out from a bloody brawl. Going to the judges to make arrangments, their proposal accepted by a narrow majority.

The match took place behind closed doors . No spectators were present save for the witnessing judges. The pace was frenzied; the combatants intense. Eventually, the contest died down and it was clear Lani was the victor.

"You won't tell anyone we did this, will you? I have an image to maintain."
"Fine by me. Good match."
"You too."
With that, the two walked away from the table where Hungry Hungry Hippos was laid out.

"That was stupid." grumbled Kefka. "No blood, no pain, no nothing. You two pretty boys had to ruin all the fun." he continued, glaring at Kuja and Seymour, who had voted in favor of the proposal.
