Season 41, Week 3
Lani
(Final Fantasy IX)

Fangirling over Amarant, winning a Light title, fawning over Amarant some more, swooning over Amarant...Lani's schedule is busy this week. However, she can certainly spare some time to slaughter this incompetent samurai! Cyan's Swordtechs may seem pretty dangerous on paper, but they're actually insufferably slow to come off. As such, considering Lani's blistering magical offense and kneebreaking speed, she's pretty well off to an easy fight: Cyan will have been Wind Sheared, drowned, frozen, burnt and electrocuted to piddling ashes by the time he would get off a remotely competent attack, and anything else he has can do little but graze Lani's fair skin. Well, that will be fast! It's a good thing, too, since Lani has a lot of work to do in order to win Amarant's heart.

Splitting the sluggish Zegai in twain was an excellent start to the season. Cyan, loyal retainer of Doma, has long since been relegated to Light for no good reason that he can understand. The only way to escape the lowest of the low divisions is on the edge of his Sky Render Katana, and by cutting his foes to bits. Cyan Garamonde has years and years of battlefield training and is one of the true veterans of the DL. That a little girl like Lani could think to usurp him? We'll see about that. A clumsy axe strike or a offhand spell can't match the grace of Cyan's finely honed Swordtech abilities. Quadra Slam's barrage of slashes is just the thing to handle an oaf like Lani, assuming she even overcomes her obvious fear and shows up to face a true knight like Cyan!

Magic Fanatic
Lani and Cyan could be similar, as they both have moves that can really put the hurting on their enemies.

The difference?

Lani's moves don't require years of waiting to access.
