Season 52, Week 3
Citan Uzuki (Hyuga Ricdeau)
(Xenogears)

The good doctor made short work of Zog last week, with his usual effective mix of speedy attacks and plenty of support and healing ethers to drown out any and all of Zog's attacks under the Crystal Waters. The same formula will serve to defeat Eirika just as effectively as it crushed Zog, too. Erikia relies on speed and evasion to win her fights, both of which, while quite impressive, are something Citan outclasses her in. Haste means he'll get far innumerably more turns than her; defense and healing spells just make that far worse. Crystal Water should shred Eirika in a few hits- not that he won't have the time to get countless attacks off anyway against her. While Miss Eirika's attacks truly are impressive, and could put a little pressure on Citan this time around, it's nothing that this veteran of countless arena fights can't handle.

The princess of Renais struggled mightily, but she finally managed a win in the highest DL division. That's all well and good, of course, but she's not stopping there! Eirika will now prove her worth by facing one of the most well-known and reputable Godlike humans around: the good doctor Citan Uzuki. And this should be quite a good battle: after all, he is quite durable, skilled with a katana and his speed actually can compare to Eirika's blistering score. However, he still has a few issues: he still has to face counters whenever he attacks, and a double from Eirika still leaves him reeling - so, he can only attack on double-turns, and his healing isn't quite good enough to entirely erase her attacks. So, with the upper hand in pressure, Eirika can actually handle the badass doctor and move on to the semis. For the glory of Renais!

Gatewalker
Eirika knew how speed games work. She used them often enough herself, afterall. You're enough faster then you're opponent, and suddenly you get to attack them twice for every one of their hits. And that is exactly the side of the speed equation that Eirika prefers to be one. SHE is the one with the insane speed. SHE is the one who gets to double. Not her opponent.

But after watching some videos of Citan's old matches, she knew very well which side of the speed equation she was going to end up on this time. And not only that, but those counters! Citan had counterattacks that would make Fire Emblem characters jealous! The princess was a bit surprised she didn't hear more talk about those, but such a thing must surely be small up herein Godlike. So even though Fire Emblem characters can be revived here...dying still hurts. Is there any real surprise she just decided to throw in the towel?

Bart leveled an unbelieving stare at the good(?) doctor, "So let me get this straight. You doctored your own old fight videos to make her think you could counterattack too?"

Citan simply sipped his tea and nodded.

"And somehow that actually WORKED!? How!?"

The doctor chuckled, "It wasn't a sure thing, but it also wasn't the only precaution I took. As for how," taking another sip of his tea, he smiled, "do you really expect me to start spilling my secrets now?"
