The true son of the Fabre family, Asch's abduction by Van and subsequent replication ruined his life, turning him into the perpetually angry madman that everyone knows and (kind of) loves so well. Secretly vowing to overthrow Van, Asch unfortunately ran into that bloody replica again, and then all his best laid plans went to hell.

IT'S ALL THAT REPLICA'S FAULT! ASCH'S PLANS TO STOP VAN WOULD HAVE GONE THROUGH WITHOUT A HITCH IF THAT DAMN REPLICA WOULDN'T HAVE INTERFERED!

While Asch continued to fight Van, sometimes aiding the Princess Natalia, his betrothed, and her allies, he was fighting a losing battle to preserve a world he didn't have a place in. As such, when Eldrant rose and Asch charged into the fray to stop Van, his fight with Luke was the climax of his life - would the original, more emolicious child win, or would the replica prove his superiority? Asch was defeated, and gave Luke the chance to stop Van, sacrificing his own life for it.

BUT THAT REPLICA AT LEAST DID SOMETHING RIGHT AND STOPPED VAN! AT LEAST HE'S NOT TOTALLY USELESS!

Asch's relegation to Light is an oddity, at least in his own eyes - the son of the Fabre family is a skilled swordsman with even some magical powers on the side, and his years of training gives him fantastic staying power. Using his control of the seven fonon, Asch can even call forth the powerful assault of his Rending Sabre, a Mystic Arte that can tear anything apart in an instant. Rest assured, there's no way the Score's favoured child will stand by idly and degrade in this vile division.

ESPECIALLY WHEN THAT DAMNED REPLICA IS AN ENTIRE DIVISION HIGHER! HOW THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN?! ARGH!!!
