Hect
Grandia 3 (G3)

A winged girl, alone, playing a lament upon the violin. What tragedy could have struck? Can anyone understand the pain that gnaws at her soul? And will competing in the Dueling League cheer her up?

Well, maybe. Hect once greeted two otherworldly travelers to her world with trust where others would have hesitated. Unfortunately, these travelers were the strangely ineffective Raven and angsty former-Communicator Emelious. Emelious repaid her trust by going (further?) insane, loosing the power of Xorn even more upon the Verse Realm, and grabbing a Godlike championship. When a new band of people from Emelious' world arrived with similar promises of stopping Xorn forever, how could Hect possibly trust them? Luckily, after about a night to think it over and no fetch quests to "prove their worth" or even a good talking-to, Hect decided to believe in hope once again. In fact, she even randomly showed up in their world upon detecting that Yuki's party was only three people, and thus had room for a fourth.

In the Dueling League, Hect relies mostly on the might of Armageddon to crush the spirits of those who would stand against her. When all their stats have been cut in half, few can threaten the mayor of Terrarium. She can also Freeze her enemies into complete stasis, leaving them open to being exploded by flames from Heaven's Gate. Her magic will even execute a trademark Grandia cancel on any charge-up moves others might try. Heavy isn't far from Godlike - perhaps she'll be able to meet Emelious himself on the field of combat some day.
