Secret of the Stars
« on: December 19, 2007, 12:48:36 AM »
All 16 PCs (4 Aquatallion, 11 Kustera, and the WISE MAN!!!) are gotten, taken at level 30 with one exception listed below. A few things to note...

First off, damn near everything in this game is usable by at least 2 people and there tends to be only one of it. As such, just about everything but the Metal Sword (Ray) and Elfin Bow (Kathy) is store bought, so legality questions shouldn't really be an issue here.
I'm not sure how much "resistance" is. The game has Set Damage range for spells, but the range is pretty big, as such, the damage's listed below are estimates. If someone wants to test it, feel free.
Some characters can use weapons that are a bit stronger, like Ben can use the Great Hammer which is about 20 points stronger. Problem? These weapons tend to give a big smack to speed, making them practically worthless in the DL. Note that I mean about 20 point loss, not a simple 5 point loss or some such.

Stats are self explanatory, game is Standard Turn Based and uses a very basic Subtraction based system (just Attack - Defense, IOWs). Criticals are 2x damage, and I am too lazy to figure out the rates; note that they all pretty much fail at life, even with a Crit boosting weapon, so not really worth noting. The game sets spells up similar to Shining Force in that there's one spell, but you can cast it at one of 3 levels. So a / indicates a new level for that spell.

Anyway, first 5 are the Aquatallion Group (including the Dan, the Wise Man!!!), the 11 below are the Kustera. If you want to take their averages seperatly (since Aquatallion group (Dan included) and the Kustera NEVER fight together), just not that everything after Dan is a Kustera, and everything before and including Dan is in the Aquatallion group.

Oh, one last note: I didn't know what were innitial equips (Could matter for anyone who starts with Speed Shoes (1 less defense than Sneakers but +4 Speed), for example), and I did the best I could to find the best storeboughts. FAQs for this game fail at life, and I could have missed a shop here and there. If someone wants to double check on this, that'd be appreciated.

Anyway, ONTO THE CHARACTERS!

Ray:
Metal Sword (80 Attack)
Metal Armor (58 Def, resists Lightning)
Metal Helm (35 Def)
Metal Boots (26 Def)

Heal: Heals 30/90/All HP, 3/5/8 MP
Coma: Adds sleep status, 30%/40%/60% accuracy, 3/4/6 MP
Land: Does various effects, depending on what level.  Mostly doubles Luck, and the other effects are practically worthless, besides Land 3's chance of Dispel, 8/14/20 MP

Tina:
NOTE: Tina was taken at level 31 cause frankly I'm too lazy to get everyone that extra level and she happened to have that, hence her stats might be a bit high

NOTE: Level 3 Fast and Slow are MT, hence why they cost more, if you're curious
Cure A: Recovers from Poison/Illness/Mute status, 3/6/8 MP
Cure B: Recovers from Paralysis/Sleep/Confusion status, 3/6/8 MP
Mute: Adds Mute status, 30%/40%/60% accuracy, 3/5/7 MP

Now for some bosses!

FROM TONFA!!!

BADBAD.

"DID YOU ASK FOR A DOG-PILL?"

HP: 275

Physical: 14
Call for help: Nothing happens. Damned useless backstabbers.

Average PC HP: 78
Average damage: 20

Fights 2 PCs.

Comments: Has HPs, tank!!! Light. Too bad he never got another battle form.

FROM OK!!!

hOmNcRuSe 1
HP: 3000

Attack!: 60 damage
Blow Fire: ~45 damage, MT
Fire 3: ~90 damage
Bolt 2: ~75 damage
Bomb Level 3: ~105 damage on average, MT

Average Party HP: 186 (Aqutallion Group)
Average Party Damage:
Metal Sword Ray - ~100
All other physicals - ~1 (Dan) - ~10 (Leona)
All attack spells (Aqutallion Group) - See Meeple's notes
*Homncruse simply has insane defense in this form; Ray's physical with Metal Sword always gets a critical hit against Homncruse in this form

Notes: Pretty badass. Very durable, with good damage of several elements and varieties. Of course, he does form-chain into the next form, so full evaluation pending...

hOmNcRuSe 2
HP: 6800

Attack!: 70 damage
Land 3: Dispel, MT
Bolt 1: ~40 damage, MT
Bolt 3: ~100 damage, MT
Bomb Level 3: ~105 damage on average, MT

Average Party HP: 186 (Aqutallion Group)
Average Party Damage:
Metal Sword Ray - ~90
All other physicals - ~1 (Dan) - ~5 (Leona)
All attack spells (Aqutallion Group) - See Meeple's notes
*Insane defense and the Metal Sword still apply

Notes: Even better! Insane durability, though fewer elements to play with. Nonetheless, damage is still solid. Godlike, and champ material. DEFINTIE NR FODDER!!!

Freeze 2/3, Storm 2/3, Bomb 1/2/3, and I think Bolt 3 are all MT, somewhat justifying their MP cost for the lower damage gain.

There seems to be a difference in Sharp and Critical hits - Sharp Hits are somewhat more common and provide double damage on hit, while a Critical Hit is EXTREMELY rare and provides quadruple damage.

Dubious legality weapon note:  seeing that this is somewhat like the FF4o Minerva (but with a larger cast...) it's worth noting.
BestClaw (40 ATK): One sharp hit to one enemy (not sure what this means), and hits twice.
Usable by only Leona and Evelyn.  One is gotten in a chest, one can be obtained earlier as a rare drop.

For possible Nyarlie's considerations:
When characters turn from Pennon to Banalet/Aqutallion, they can use combo magic.  However, only specific spells (and weapon attacks) can combo.  Current combo list:

Bolt Break..........Boltswrd and Bolt1 - Any + Leona - Same as Fire Blade but Lightning?
Bolt Storm..........Storm2 and Bolt2 - Cody + Leona - 120 MT Wind/Lightning elemental damage
Cure All............Cure-A3 and Cure-B3 - Tina + Leona - MT Full status healing?
Devastate...........Fire3 and Freeze3 and Storm3 and Bolt3 - Ray + Tina + Cody + Leona
Fire Blade..........Fireswrd and Fire1 - Any + Ray - 145 Fire-elemental physical, can Sharp Hit/Critical Hit
Fire Storm..........Fire1 and Storm1 - Ray + Cody - 70 Fire/Wind-elemental magic
Ice Fire............Fire1 and Freeze1 - Ray + Tina - 60 Fire/Ice-elemental magic?
Ice Slash...........Iceswrd and Freeze1 - Any + Tina - 145 Ice-elemental physical, can Sharp Hit/Critical Hit
Ice Storm...........Freeze2 and Storm2 - Tina + Cody - 90 MT Ice/Wind-elemental magic
No Call.............Repel1 and Step1 - Ray + Cody - Enemies cannot call for help.
Twin Less...........Antpwr1 and Antspl1 - Cody + Leona - Drains HP and MP from enemy, all party members recover?
