Total defences added to everyone's entries, redid T260G's entry, and most importantly... all mecs added!

A minor nitpick but WP stands for "Waza Points" and JP stands for "Jutsu Points." Waza is a Japanese word for skills (usually physical in nature) and Jutsu is... well, I think everyone knows Jutsu these days.

It is important to keep things factually true, so sayeth the President of the United States of America.

Added a full equipment list (search for those exact words to find it, it's right above the averages) and redid mecs to have a tankier build as default since I was convinced it is in fact optimal.

At this point I'm basically done with this stat topic, at least for the time being. If I can find out more about how status works, though, I'll be back to do work on that!

Learning, learning, learning:

Things to update now that I know how they work:
-the exact effects of all the rings
-the exact effects of healing (of note: MindHeal may not be quiiite full for some people. Plus side, it heals most status)
-also need to add BulletProof vests for anti-piercing twinkery for humans, and mystics who have either a fishtail or a Hojo fanclub membership.

Added a whole bunch of status hit rates (we still don't know everything, but we're getting closer) and cleaned up some stuff.

Rouge and Zozma's claims to Middle just went down the crapper.

I've been saying Death/DeathCurse were awful for over a year!

I still think Rouge is a Middle, turn 2 instant death (turn 1 against many scrubs) scares too much of Light

Well, it's kind of a perspective thing. I guess, under that light, Tellah is probably a Middle himself (since he wins a lot of fights against Lights if he gets a single turn, the lower durability probably doesn't offset this, and he has more killer status than Rouge to boot. Turn one to average I win status vs. turn two to average I win status, that jazz), and that's the immediate comparison I draw. He -does- make a scary Light, I guess.

This probably -does- mean Rouge should've eaten it to Tengaar, though! Zozma is just completely useless.

(Now watch as you discover Rei status is turn seven.)

Is there any information on what the other Rune magic spells (Wall, Dwarf) do?

I also read that HideRune makes you untargettable until you make an offensive action, so healing or buffing yourself didn't cancel it. Is it any action?

HideRune is cancelled by any non-defend action, including healing. Its main use in the DL is to give regen time to kick in. WallRune blocks one attack that deals piercing damage, a bit like a more limited, more expensive GlassShield. DwarfRune lowers the Strength of a single target. I don't believe it can miss or be immuned, but I have no idea how effective it is... probably not terribly though. Str is only one of many factors that go into Saga damage, so lowering it a modest amount isn't going to be that great.

I actually just tested HideRune and it keeps you in the Hidden status as long as you heal or buff yourself. It does cancel if you cast any spell on anyone other than yourself.

I tried testing DwarfRune but it wouldn't hit anything, so...........

EDIT: It's also important to note that I think Shadow Servant can't be targetted as long as Hide Rune is up. This only matters for Blue, but still!

Ooh, okay, that explains it. So any ST buffs/healing on self work, but not MT, I assume?

That seems to be the case, unless there are weird cases like the skills from weapons.

Hey, interesting thought, but...

Laggy has a decent breakdown of the status effects in the first post of the boss topic.

It should be noted that due to Emelia's starting quest, Annie, Lise, and Emelia herself all at least have a claim to having Rune Magic.  This isn't too important all-around, but SoulRune could at least seem useful for those three, and maybe VitalityRune in a pinch.  VictoryRune could be good as well, but as a disclaimer, I'm fully aware that I don't have a complete grasp of how effective these spells actually are.

See Mesarthim's entry for the effectiveness of rune magic, although I'd need to test just how good VictoryRune's damage boost is (kneejerk is about 1/4 to 1/3). The biggest thing is that VitalityRune is reasonably potent regen and stacks with HideRune to be essentially full healing (unless the opponent has MT) once set up.

It will probably never come up, but something I learned from skimming the Mechanics FAQ that I can confirm from experiences in my ongoing LP is that there is an inherit multiplier that gives "Upper Class Mystics" and advantage over "Lower Class Mystics" such that an upper class mystic will take roughly 1/4 of normal damage  from a lower class mystics attack. All of the playable mystics are upper class with the exception of Mesarthim so it will probably never come up outside of inter cast matchups and even then Mesarthim probably still wants to go for status. Diva however is also considered a lower class mystic and it was her significantly reduced damage against White Rose that confirmed this for me. As I mentioned earlier this will almost never come up, but this could be the new standard for obscure Saga Mechanics.

Something I put together a couple years ago, has all the hex ability data translated into a more readable format. Not really useful for DL match purposes, but interesting for Saga nerds.

Something that came up in Nerf League last night, and I felt should be posted since I had to actually fire the game up and test this:

HideRune is not broken by self-targeted actions.  This mostly matters for Mesarthim.

Also worth noting that Area Of Effect does not seem to go through HideRune if the HideRune user is alone. Full MT does though. AoE would have to be 'centered'  a HideRune'd target, so that makes sense.

Also what do you think is the best 'default' accessory? It matters kinda because humans can use 2 (+10 Qui or +22 nonphusical defenses) and monsters can use 4 (+20 Qui or +44 nonphys def)
