Final Fantasy Legend 3 (Bosses/Temps)
« on: August 27, 2008, 11:33:10 PM »
From Neph

Ha Fenrir you think you're so bad ass but you're really not. You too Gourry.

For this topic I will be assuming the following: Arthur and Gloria are their default forms (Human and Mutant, respectively), Curtis is a Cyborg, and Sharon is a Monster.

For those of you who don't know, FFL3 uses a transformation system for your characters. Any of them can be transformed into anything you desire. The way it works is this:
Monster <=> Beast <=> Human/Mutant <=> Cyborg <=> Robot

Meat will make your character transform toward the left, Parts toward the
right. For example, in order for a Robot to turn into a Monster, it must eat meat 4 times. A Monster can turn into a Human or Mutant by installing Parts twice.

Cyborgs are basically Mechs from Saga Frontier. They gain HP based on what equipment and weapons they have on. Robots gain stats through storebought pills that permanently increase their stats. Beasts are some sort of bizzare combination of Monster and the basic class, but they get an extra damage boost from using KARATE skills! (Yes, there are weapons called 'Jumpkick' and things like that) Monsters are pretty much the same as Monsters from any other Square game.

Beasts transform upon level.

If anyone has any other questions or comments, please feel free to add them.

I have no idea what stats do. At all. I'm going to try and puzzle it out one of these days.

Strong against X seems to be a 75% reduction in damage. I think? I have no idea, it might be halve, but damage in this game seems to be subtraction based, so it ends up being more.

I think all bosses can defend. Why they'd ever want to is beyond me.

WaterHag

"You are not meant to challenge the will of the masters. Perish!"

HP: 460
MP: 460
Attack: 10
Defense: 30
Agility: 45 (!?) (Faster than everyone) (Party's Average: 12)
Magic: 20
Evade: 35
Magic Defense: 40
Magic Evade: 45

Abilities -
Nail: 50 Physical damage
Psych: 20~ Magical Damage, lowers magic damage by about 30%
P Blast: 60 Physical Damage
Defend: Halves all damage for one round.

30%~ Critical Hit Rate (Criticals do 2x damage)

Party's Average Level: 5 Average HP: 125

Damage to him:

Gloria's Ice1: 92
Myron's BattleAxe: 74
Sharon's Quake: 32
Arthur's Battle Sword: 60
Curtis' Upper: 20

Evaluation: Isn't even really a boss. I guess he has decent durability, but I don't think that can save him from Light

Lara

"GRRR!!"

HP: 430
MP: 194
Agility: 27! (Faster than everyone else)(Party's Average: 20)
Defense: 40 Reduces physical damage by 20-30 (15%~ reduction)
Magic Defense: 150 (?!) Reduces damage by about 20-30 before resistances (15% reduction)

Strong against Ice, Fire, Wind. (Possibly all elements, it's impossible to test them all against her), Immune to status

Abilities:

Ice1: 70 Magical Ice Damage
Fire1: 70 Magical Fire Damage
Lit1: 80 Magical Lightning Damage

Party's level: 8
Average HP: 188

Damage to her:

Arthur's Razor Whip: 32 if x1 Hit, 104 if x2 (????)
Gloria's Ice1: 79
Curtis' Kick: 26
Sharon's Tongue: 14

Evaluation: Well, she's a bit better... but that durability is really bad. She might scrape into Middle, but I'm a little doubtful, so I'll just say Light/Middle

Dogra

"You must be Borgin!"

HP: 3000
MP: 2500
Agility: 15 (Slower than everyone else) (Party's average: 27)
Defense: 25 (Takes slightly less damage)
Magic Defense: 30 (Ditto)

Dogra comes with two Witches. They have 193 HP and are identical to enemies fought outside and inside the dungeon. They're pretty much OHKO bait to anything.

Abilities:

D-Beam: 84 Physical damage
Stench: 33 damage, Lowers physical defense, can be MT (Attacks do 10%~ more damage or so)
Windup: 151 Physical Damage
Bite: 130 Physical Damage, causes Paralysis (40~50% rate? He uses this attack rarely) Paralysis lasts 2 rounds.
Defend: Reduces damage taken by 30%?

Party's Level: 12
Party's HP Average: 266 without Lara, 253 with.

Damage to him:

Gloria's Aero1: 188
Curtis' Upper: 76
Sharon's Flame: 76
Lara's Lit1: 186
Arthur's Razor Whip: 2x 159

Evaluation: Oh my word! An actual boss. Dogra is pretty beefy and has some decent options. Can't do much against physical tanks, though. With the 2HKO damage and good durability, I think he can make it in Heavy

Ashura

"The Units were already moved to Chaos' Castle! I'll give you something else!"

HP: 3500
Agility: 36 (Traded turns with Arthur and Gloria) (Party's average: 39)
Defense: 40
Magic Defense: 50

Comes with two Warriors (210 HP)
Strong against Fire.

Abilities:

Fire1: 103 Magical Fire Damage
Punch: 95 Physical Damage
Upper: 135 Physical Damage
Gaze: Causes Paralysis, 100% (Saw him use this one time)

Party's Level: 15
Party's HP Average: 386 (I may be a bit overlevelled)

Damage to him:

Gloria's Lit1: 244
Arthur's Gold Sword: 195
Curtis' Upper: 129
Sharon's Burning: 20 (Fire Elemental)

Evaluation: Uhh... yeah, he's fought quite a bit after Dogra and only has 500 more HP. I might have been overlevelled for him and the next few bosses, but... I really doubt it. Middle Fire resistance is nice, I guess.

Chaos

"Your future is lost. And now for you!"

HP: 4000
Agility: 35 (Traded turns with Gloria and Arthur) (Party's Average: 48) (Sharon and Curtis raise this by a huge margin, they're in pretty damn good forms right now)
Defense: 55
Magic Defense: 50

Headbut: 150
Crash: 185
Stongaze: Causes Petrify, 100%
Quake: 110 Magical Earth(?) Damage. MT
Defend: Reduces damage by 30%

Party's HP Average: 445 (Sharon and Curtis raise this, again)
Party's Level: 17

Damage to him:

Curtis' Upper: 137
Gloria's Lit1: 262
Arthur's Gold Sword: 195
Sharon's 2-Swords: 210

Evaluation: He's a lot better in-game because there's no way to deal with MT moves yet. However, in the translation, he loses a lot of his oomph. 3HKO physical damage or 4HKO magical damage doesn't really cut it anywhere but Middle, even with the good durability.

Maitreya

"Came here to join your friend? You sure can!"

HP: 6000
Agility: 55 (Party's average was around 50)
Defense: 40 (Average)
Magic Defense: 70 (Reduces magic damage by about 15%)

Comes with two Lamias (574 HP)

Abilities:

Aero: 213 Magical Wind damage
Ice2: 272 magical Ice damage, can be MTed
Cyclone: 140 Physical Damage, MT
Lullaby: Sleep, 100%
Defend: Reduces damage by 30%

Party's Level: 21
Party's Average HP: 537

Damage to her:

Arthur's X-Plane Sword (with Fast): 340
Curtis' Upper (With Fast): 208
Gloria's Fire2: 398
Sharon's Dive (With Fast): 260

Evaluation: Well, being magically reliant doesn't help a lot, but she has 2HKO Ice damage and can rely on Wind if she needs to. I guess she's pretty fast, so she can probably sit somewhere in Heavy

Fenrir

"You'll be gone for good this time!"

HP: 8000
Agility: 65 (Went first about 30% of the time) (Party Average: 58)
Defense: 40
Magic Defense: 140 (Reduces magic damage by about 100, which is around 20~25%)

Party level: 22, Average HP: 566

Abilities:

Ice 2: Never used it, but it'd be less than Lit 2 anyway (Probably about 390)
Flood: 350 Ice Damage, MT
Lit 2: 458 Lightning/Wind Magical Damage
2-Tusks: 2x 271 Physical Damage
Kick: 383 Physical Damage
Riddle: Confusion, 100%

Damage to him:

Gloria's Fire2: 391
Arthur's Dragon Sword (2 Fasts): 370
Sharon's Dive: (1 Fast) 270

Evaluation: The moment you step into the Pureland, you're pretty much ensured to fight good bosses until the end of the game. Fenrir is one of them. Having both very good 2HKO magic and physical damage as well as good HP and speed, he is the first (and not the last) FFL3 boss to end up somewhere in Godlike

Guha

"What! You people here can't oppose us masters!"

HP: 10000
Agility: 80 (Almost always went first, traded turns with Sharon otherwise) (Average: 63)
Defense: 60
Magic Defense: 160

Party's Level: 23 (Faye is 25), HP Average: 614 (without Faye), 641 (with Faye)

FireX: 250 Fire Damage, MT, does not focus.
WindUp: 382 Physical Damage
Fluid: MT POIZN
Sneer: 283, Inflicts Confusion at about 75%, crits around 40% for ~580

Damage to him:

Arthur's Rune Axe (1 Fast): 410
Curtis' Jyudo: 382 (440 With Fast)
Gloria's Lit2: 512
Faye's Lit2: 168
Faye's Rune Axe: 432 (452 with Fast)

Evaluation: Hey, look at that. It's a faster, more durable version of Fenrir. He's pretty much exactly the same, except he focuses more on physical damage instead of magical damage. He's still Godlike.

Dahak

"Then defeat me!"

HP: 16000
Agility: 62 (Slower than everyone but Arthur and Gloria)
Defense: 70
Magic Defense: 90

Party's Level: 24 (Faye is 25), HP Average: 624

Abilities:

Shake: 230 Earth Magic Damage, MT
Nail: 405 Physical Damage
Swallow: 360, can be MTed, restores 25% of the damage as HP!!!
Tongue: 367 Physical Damage
Gaze: Curse, 100%! I have no idea what Curse does!
Defend: Reduces damage by 30% for one turn

Damage to him:

Curtis' Jyudo: 360
Arthur's Durend: 875
Gloria's Lit2: 564
Sharon's 4Heads: 280

Evaluation: Well, he's slow, but he has good damage and pretty crazy HP. He's kind of like Zog. So I guess Heavy/Godlike or something, maybe higher.

Jorgandr

"Look, it's the tornado master Jorgandr!!"

HP: 4000
Agility: 70 (Usually went after Sharon/Faye/Curtis, traded turns with them all after two Sand attacks) (Average: 68)
Defense: 150
Magic Defense: 200

Strong Against Damage (Except Durend. (Holy?)) and All elements. Immune to draining moves.

Party level: 25, HP Average: 581

Sand: Lowers agility
Crash: 410 Physical Damage
Bite: 261, Causes Paralysis
Bash: 450 Physical Damage
Dissolv: 200 Damage, restores 50% of damage dealt in HP
Defend: Reduces damage by 30% for one round

Gloria's Lit2: 131
Arthur's Durend: 731
Sharon's 6-Arms: 6x 102
Faye's Rune Axe: 80

Evaluation: Don't let that HP fool you. He takes hits better than absolutely anyone else in this game, except from the Durend sword. If you didn't have that sword, I don't think he'd be beatable. Godlike, although the reliance on physical damage hurts a good deal. I guess he can get around it with Dissolv if he's desperate.

Agron

"Puny Humans, what fools!"

(I feel the need to include the dialouge before the fight)
"Too bad, machine can also protect me from Mystic Sword."
"Wait!"
"Dion?!"
"Doctor put a bomb in me for such an occasion, take care of Faye!"

HP: 28000
Attack: 20
Defense: 150
Agility: 90 (Trades turns with Curtis, who is the fastest) (Party Average: 80)
Magic: 100
Evade: 45
Magic Defense: 90
Magic Evade: 60

Party level: 30, HP Average: 768 (Arthur has 670, Gloria 575, Curtis and Sharon have around 900)

Abilities:

White: 310 Holy (?) Damage, MT
Stonegas: Petrification, 100%
Acid: 512 Physical (?) Damage, inflicts Mute at 40%

Damage to him:

Curtis' Defense Sword: 217
Arthur's Excalibur: 1250
Gloria's Nuke: 776

Evaluation: Despite the increase in damage the party has seen, Agron is an incredible boss. There's absolutely nothing you can do in-game if he just decides to spam White over and over and over. Having both good magic and physical damage as well as a purely ridiculous amount of health, Agron is happy to sit in the ranks of Godlike

Ballor

"Xagor will have Sol's powers! You fools are finished!"

HP: 34000
MP: 34000
Attack: 30
Defense: 230
Agility: 120  (Always went first) (Average Agility: 87)
Magic: 200
Evade: 99
Magic Defense: 200
Magic Evade: 125

Strong against all elements except Holy. Takes double damage from the Mystic Weapons, which could be considered Holy weapons.

Party Level: 33, Average HP: 845 (with Borgin) 808 (without Borgin)

Abilities:

Magma: 500 Magical Earth damage
Nuke: 510 Non-Elemental Magical Damage, MT
Beam: 628 Magical Damage (?)
Tail: 658 Physical Damage
Dk-virus: Can inflict Poison, Stone, Silence, Confusion, Paralysis or Sleep. MT. Inflicts any two of the above statuses at 100%, unless immune. Won't skip any of the status if the target is immune, so it's possible to use two statii that a target is immune to.

Damage to him:

Arthur's Excalibur: 1200
Curtis' Masamune: 998
Borgin's White: 598
Sharon's 2-Swords: 228
Gloria's White: 658

Evaluation: What's that, you say? Another boss with even more HP and even faster than Agron? Why yes, that's right! Not only does Ballor have a tremendous amount of physical and magical damage, but he even has a Grand Cross-like move to use on people who somehow wall either of those things. Ballor is happy people don't have Ribbons out the wazoo like you do in FFL3. Godlike

Sol

"You must hurry, I won't be able to hold him long!"

HP: 60000

Does not attack. After losing a certain amount of health and after 6~ turns have passed, transforms into Xagor.

Damage to him:

Curtis' Masamune: 1227
Sharon's 2-Swords: 455
Borgin's Gungnir: 317
Arthur's Excalibur: 1477

Xagor

"Now that Sol is gone, I will rule this world!"

HP: 48000
MP: 48000
Attack: 100
Defense: 250
Agility: 100 (Goes randomly in the turn order sometimes, but 75% of the time goes first.) (Average Agility: 88)
Magic: 250
Evade: 130
Magic Defense: 250
Magic Evade: 125

Strong against all elements except Holy. Takes double damage from the Mystic Weapons, which could be considered Holy weapons.

Party Level: 34, Average HP: 855 (with Borgin) 815 (without Borgin)

Abilities:

Magma: 620 Earth Magic Damage
Flare: 625 Non-Elemental Damage, MT
LitX: 550 Lightning Damage, MT
Barrier: Raises defense? (Not sure) He casts this on the party.
Dk-Force: 950 Physical (? Not sure) Damage

Damage to him:

Arthur's Excalibur: 1446 (With 5 Fasts, so the actual damage is closer to 1200)
Curtis' Masamune: 998
Gloria's White: 602
Talon's E-Ray: 550

Evaluation: I really don't think I have to say anything. He's basically a better version of Kefka, with nearly OHKO damage in just MT spells and overkill damage with Dk-Force. If it turns out Dk-Force is magical (I honestly can't tell, there's no real way to be sure) then he's completely magically reliant. Beyond that, though, he's a very strong dueller and I expect to see him in a Godlike RPGmon soon.

This post is reserved for temps. Generally what happens is they start a few levels above everyone else and leave one or two levels below that.

They cannot gain experience or change equipment once they have it on, however, if they do not have equipment, you can give it to them, but it then becomes locked. If you want to give them equipment options that's fine, but I didn't bother because this game isn't that hard anyway.
