Continuing with my grand tradition of making stat topic for things that barely get any exposure in Not Ranked, an Anachronox stat topic!

So, first things first. Notes on the battle system. The magic system is based on MysTech, which are kind of like materia. Nobody has any, in other words. Well, one PC starts with a piece equipped, but it is worthless; nevertheless I have included it for the sake of completeness. Also important to the magic system are shieldcells, which when equipped have two functions. These are to provide PCs with NRG (MP) and shields. Each shieldcell has a different amount of NRG available, and a certain amount of this can be used for shields (which simply boost HP). The Sender Standard Shieldcell, which has been used for this stat topic, carries 256 NRG and the capacity to allocate one quarter of that to shields. This is effectively 192 NRG and a boost of 640 HP to the whole cast. This doesn’t matter, because everyone has the same HP anyway. I hate Rho for making me include this for completion.

Speed is ATB, and quite simple. Some characters have a 5 second recovery time, some have 6. It’s listed with their stats. Battles also have a sort of a row system, though all the rows change is whether or not you can target someone depending on whether you’re long- or short-range. Everyone’s best weapon is long-range, except for Paco. He has a weaker long-range weapon listed for completeness.

Speaking of stats, they don’t have numbers! Stats are qualified rather than quantified. The range is: Bad, Poor, Fair, Good, Great, Excellent. There are actually three levels that differ in power and all say “Excellent,” though, so for the purposes of the topic they are divided into Excellent, More Excellent, and Most Excellent. Bow before my creativity.

The last thing to note is Bouge. PCs’ unique skills are used by spending Bouge. Bouge is represented by a bar underneath PC HP and NRG, and fills at the rate of 1/24th a second. Charge times for various PC Bouge skills are listed with stats. When PCs reach certain Bouge benchmarks, they can use a skill and Bouge returns to 0 and charges up again. PC's start battle with 1/4th of their Bouge already filled. Pretty simple. Still not sure who came up with the word “Bouge,” though.

The cast can block the following stati with storebought accessories: Slow, Poison, Burn (identical to Poison but attached to fire-element MysTech), Freeze (identical to Stop), Nuts (identical to Confusion), Winky (ATB gauge fills eratically).

Levels are taken as 40. It doesn’t really matter what level you take stats, but 40 is a nice round number and is roughly endgame so there you go. This is what the stats do.

Health: Please don’t make me tell you what this is, because it is HP.
NRG: This is the game’s MP.

Might: Strength. Determines Beefiness, along with your weapon.
Agility: Celerity. Determines Speed, Beat, Beat Block and MysBlock.
Wisdom: Smarts. Determines Beat Block and Mys-related things.

Beefiness: Determines physical damage.
Beat: Physical accuracy.
Speed: ATB speed.
Beat Block: Physical evasion.
MysBeat: Magical accuracy.
MysBlock: Magical evasion.
