IMPORTANT UPDATE: IRC Room

For those who don't know (or those who do but are setting up a new computer) we have an IRC room which typically has about 30 people in at any one time.

Server: irc.lunarnet.org
Room: #rpgdl

If you're looking for your own IRC client, check into mIRC. You can AIM Halbarad if you need help setting it up (I use Gaim/Pidgin myself, which is a more general chat program not as taylored to IRC).

We're back to sharing a server with Soulriders, so you should be able to use their Java client if necessary - or you can use other public clients, such as mibbit.com.

Is there any reason why mIRC would keep on deleting itself?

I always get in by putting in 66.252.25.250 instead of a server name, but I'm not sure where you would input that in a different program than Chatzilla.  For reference, the first thing I type in when I start Chatzilla is /server 66.252.25.250, and that gets me to the right place.

...so, apparently, the mIRC.exe file has disappeared from my computer, despite having used it 12 hours ago.  And doing nothing to my computer outside of shutting it down.

I had the same problem. Are you sure your firewall/spyware/etc isn't blocking it? That happened to me.

I haven't been able to connect either.  I go to connect and it keeps trying to use an IP address that I do not use then it kicks me off.

Okay, apparently IRC switched me to Betamax.dejatoons when I wasn't looking, that was why it wouldn't work. Switching back to Thundarr did the trick.

What server were you using, Ephraim?

I believe if you change the port numbers, that may grant better access to any servers in the IRC channels, especially if you're on campus and your campus is too slow at blocking portal numbers. That doesn't require needing a new IP to access the channels.

Try reconnecting? Try a different client? Try a proxy? It's hard to say what it could be based on just that.  Fiddle around and see if it resolves itself easily.
